There’s only about a week left for gamblers to bet on who will be NFL MVP before the 2024 NFL season starts, as the defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs will play host to the Baltimore Ravens on Sept. 5 in a rematch of the AFC Championship Game.
Once the season gets underway, the odds for MVP can change drastically, with players starting to show whether they are serious contenders to win the award.
The regular-season honor is almost exclusively won by a superstar quarterback, which is arguably the most important position on a football team.
That said, it isn’t all that surprising that the five most bet-on players for NFL MVP heading into the 2024 campaign are all quarterbacks, with second-year pro C.J. Stroud of the Houston Texans getting most of the bets right now at FanDuel Sportsbook, followed by Joe Burrow (Cincinnati Bengals), Jalen Hurts (Philadelphia Eagles), Jordan Love (Green Bay Packers) and Patrick Mahomes (Chiefs), via Boardroom.

Stroud is coming off an incredible rookie season as he proved his worth almost immediately for the Texans and helped them reach the playoffs along with new head coach DeMeco Ryans.
Although there were some doubts whether Stroud would be a star on the professional level, he put those to rest quickly and now is considered to be one of the best quarterbacks in the league.
That makes him a popular bet for NFL MVP, with the Texans also making some solid moves during the offseason, like trading for wide receiver Stefon Diggs.
