After missing the playoffs this past season and losing Klay Thompson in free agency this summer, the Golden State Warriors are searching for answers as Stephen Curry inches closer to the end of his career.

At age 36, Curry may still have a few great years left in him, but plenty of people are picking Golden State to miss the playoffs again this season.

Internal improvement will be needed to return to respectability, and according to Anthony Slater of The Athletic, the Warriors want guard Brandin Podziemski to take many more 3-pointers this season, via NBACentral.

Podziemski was among the few bright spots in an otherwise disappointing season for the Warriors.

He was the No. 19 overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, and with Thompson struggling to find consistency, the rookie started 28 of his 74 games and ended up playing more than 26 minutes per contest for the season.

He shot 38.5 percent from 3-point range, but that was on just 3.2 attempts per game, and if he were to blossom as a more prolific offensive threat this season, it would greatly increase the Warriors’ chances of making the playoffs.

In his final season at Santa Clara, Podziemski averaged 19.9 points per game and made 43.8 percent of his 3-point attempts, so perhaps he does have some ability to raise his production considerably.

In an attempt to replace Thompson’s offense, the Warriors brought in sharpshooter Buddy Hield, and he could end up competing with Podziemski for the starting two-guard spot, even though the veteran became more of a bench player with the Indiana Pacers and Philadelphia 76ers this past season.
