With the start of the 2024 NFL season on the horizon, and the defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs set to get things underway by playing host to the Baltimore Ravens on Sept. 5, everyone is chiming in on who they believe will be the best and worst teams in the league.
As usual, the Chiefs are getting a lot of buzz about potentially being the best, as Patrick Mahomes and company aim to make history as the only team to win three Super Bowl titles in a row.
On the other end of the spectrum, the New England Patriots seem to be in contention for the label of the worst team in the NFL, as the storied franchise went through some drastic changes during the offseason.
After parting ways with legendary head coach Bill Belichick after 24 seasons, longtime owner Robert Kraft brought in former player Jerod Mayo as the successor, which was an interesting move.
Along with that hire, the Patriots traded quarterback Mac Jones to the Jacksonville Jaguars and selected QB Drake Maye with the No. 3 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
With the Pats starting from scratch, as they also recently traded pass rusher Matthew Judon to the Atlanta Falcons, New England is projected to be the worst team in the NFL, with a lot of betting odds not in its favor, according to ESPN BET.

It seems the Patriots are a long way from getting back to the top of the league as they embrace the rebuilding process while also not rushing their rookie quarterback onto the field.
Veteran Jacoby Brissett was named the Week 1 starter, showing New England’s intention to take it slow and let things develop.
