A hot topic of discussion during the 2023-24 NBA season and throughout the offseason has been what the league will be like after the upcoming 2024-25 campaign, with it cutting ties with TNT and ending the network’s top-notch coverage throughout the season.

The main concern among fans is whether the viewing experience and coverage will be the same, with the incredibly popular program “NBA on TNT,” headlined by Charles Barkley and Shaquille O’Neal, potentially no longer existing.

The news of this all falling apart for TNT does not sit well with many fans who depend on the network to watch the game they love.

Along with the network losing NBA rights, there have been many questions about the immediate futures of TNT employees, like NBA insider Chris Haynes.

According to Ryan Glasspiegel of the New York Post, Haynes is, in fact, leaving TNT, via NBACentral.

Haynes is just one of many notable personalities impacted by this change, but he’s such an established name in the business and one of the top reporters on league matters that he likely won’t be sidelined for very long, as another outlet will almost certainly offer him a deal.

Only time will tell what the long-term impact of the league moving away from TNT will be, especially with everyone wondering what’s next for the high-profile “NBA on TNT” crew, even though Barkley has pledged to stay with the company, as has Ernie Johnson.
