There’s always been lots of talk about Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James, who will turn 40 in December yet is still going strong as one of the best players in the NBA.

With James proving to be as durable as anyone who has ever played professional basketball, some have wondered whether he would’ve had similar success had he chosen to continue to play football instead.

During his days at St. Vincent-St. Mary High School in Akron, Ohio, James made a name for himself as an athlete who excelled in both sports, with the consensus being that he also could’ve gone pro had he chosen to pursue a football career.

There’s no way of knowing whether James’ body would’ve held up taking the punishment of playing a more violent sport on a weekly basis, but that hasn’t stopped people from talking about it.

On the debut of his new podcast “Get Got Pod,” former NFL running back Marshawn Lynch gave his two cents after James was compared to All-Pro tight end Jimmy Graham.

“Yeah,” Lynch said. “… Well then he woulda been a good tight end. Just wouldn’t have been blocking …”

They finally gave Marshawn Lynch his own podcast

He says LeBron would’ve been a good TE

Lynch and fellow former NFL running back Michael Robinson clearly believe James could’ve gotten it done on the NFL level, but they seem to have a bit of a debate about which position he’d play, wide receiver or tight end.

Now 6-foot-9 and muscle from head to toe, tight end seems to be where James would land, but maybe he’d be able to handle his high school position of wide receiver as well, in the same way he plays multiple positions on the basketball floor.
