For years, Ron Rivera was one of the most well-respected head coaches in the NFL.

His teams might not have always been the best in the league, but players loved suiting up for him, and he was a fan favorite wherever he went.

While Rivera has a rich history of coaching in the NFL, he is taking a step back from that side of things.

However, as he recently helped announce on X, he won’t be far from the game.

Rivera is slated to start an on-air role for the NFL Network, participating in several major shows, including GameDay Preview and Good Morning Football.

Proud to continue my role with the NFL in a new position as on-air talent for shows like GameDay Preview and Good Morning Football! https://t.co/5SYx3DSLGQ

This should be a great hire for the NFL Network.

Not only is Rivera a likable person, but his years of experience in the league should contribute to great insights when he’s on screen.

The NFL Network has gone through a lot of on-air changes in recent years, but adding a mainstay like Rivera was a no-brainer.

It will be interesting to see if he’ll eventually help broadcast games, or if the network will only use him in this listed capacity.

Rivera isn’t the only former head coach stepping into a new venture this offseason, as Bill Belichick has also gotten some on-air opportunities.

He has a regular spot on the Pat McAfee Show, and unlike Rivera, he will be helping call a few games on ESPN, working in tandem with Peyton Manning.

Fans are already excited for the season to start, and Rivera’s announcement is one more aspect for them to root for.
