When the Green Bay Packers looked at the upcoming season and pictured their roster, A.J. Dillon was a part of their plan.
Unfortunately, it didn’t work out that way.
Despite being a favorite in the locker room and the community, Dillon’s season with the Packers is over.
After being placed on season-ending IR by the Packers, Dillon made a post on X to express his gratitude towards the fans and his teammates.
Thank you all for the overwhelming support during this tough time. This injury is a tough blow, but I’m staying positive and surrounded by an incredible support system Right now, my focus is on getting healthy, and I’m rooting for my brothers to take care of business #GPG pic.twitter.com/aCl7ipXHDV

He noted that he is “staying positive,” and that his “focus is on staying healthy.”
Dillon has suffered a few stinger injuries in recent years, and he averaged a career-low 3.4 yards per carry in 2023
This decision seemed to be supported by Dillon’s limited snaps in training camp and his brief appearances in two of the Packers’ three preseason games.
They felt it was in their best interest to move forward with Josh Jacobs and Emmanuel Wilson as their two primary backs, leaving little room for Dillon.
It will be interesting to see if Dillon will draw any interest in the free-agent market once he is healthy.
At times, he was a solid back for the Packers, but in the NFL, if players can’t stay on the field, they unfortunately have little worth to their team.
