While several notable star wide receivers across the NFL have gotten lucrative contract extensions this summer, even after holding out of team practices, one is still waiting.

Ja’Marr Chase of the Cincinnati Bengals has been holding out of practices for most of the summer, and he hasn’t gotten his extension yet.

He doesn’t just want to get paid — he wants to get paid extravagantly, as he reportedly wants to be the highest-paid wideout in the NFL, or at least tied with Justin Jefferson of the Minnesota Vikings, per Around the NFL.

Fans will likely scoff at this demand, as Chase is very good but no Jefferson.

Jefferson is considered by many to be the best wide receiver in the league, and he received a four-year, $140 million extension in June.

He had just 1,074 yards and five touchdowns last season, as a hamstring injury limited him to 10 games.

Chase, meanwhile, was merely 12th in receiving yards per game, and overall, he totaled 100 catches, which was also 12th in the league.

The Bengals are hoping to get back to contender status this season after injuries to quarterback Joe Burrow knocked them out of the running for the Vince Lombardi Trophy last year.

If they come to an agreement with Chase, the Bengals will likely have a real shot a toppling the two-time defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs sometime in January.
