After the Brandon Staley era officially came to an end during the 2023 NFL season, the Los Angeles Chargers embarked on a new journey, with the struggling franchise determined to turn things around while making the best of the prime of Justin Herbert’s career.

As a result of this determination to right the ship in Los Angeles, the Chargers went out and hired arguably the most sought-after head coach available in former University of Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh.

With Harbaugh being unable to win a Super Bowl during his time coaching in the NFL, the legendary head coach has had the itch to return to the professional level for quite some time in order to win that elusive Vince Lombardi Trophy, which his brother John Harbaugh has won.

As the Chargers and Harbaugh try to right the ship, Los Angeles wants to make all the right moves before facing the division-rival Las Vegas Raiders in Week 1, and apparently, running back Isaiah Spiller is not part of the plan moving forward, as he was released on Friday, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.

Fortunately for the Chargers, the team appears to be stacked at the running back position, with Los Angeles bringing in former Baltimore Ravens, Gus Edwards and JK Dobbins to come out of the backfield in 2024.

With those two formidable backs presumably getting the bulk of the carries, it comes as no surprise that the team would make the move to part ways with Spiller.
