If you had asked an average college football fan a question about the Colorado Buffaloes five years ago, they probably wouldn’t be able to answer it.
Oh, how the tables have turned.
After just one season as head coach, Deion Sanders has turned Colorado into a team that everyone is talking about.
They might not be favorites to win the National Championship, but Colorado has several high-caliber athletes that will likely make it to the NFL.
One of those players is a potential first-round pick, Travis Hunter.
Hunter is a unique player, as he is dominant on both offense and defense.
His offensive prowess was put on full display in Colorado’s first game of the season, as he racked up seven catches for 132 yards and three touchdowns.
After seeing this elite performance, sportsbooks adapted quickly.
As ESPN Bet recently highlighted on X, Hunter’s Heisman Trophy odds shifted from +5000 to +2500.

This odds shift is an indication that Hunter is gaining a lot of traction from bettors, forcing sportsbooks to protect themselves.
Whether Hunter has a legitimate chance at the Heisman remains to be seen, but if he keeps putting on performances like he did in Week 1, it’s certainly possible.
Say what you want about Colorado, and about what Sanders brings to the table as a head coach, but this team has talent.
They might not come about the sport in a conventional way, but players like Hunter and Shedeur Sanders curate an enjoyable fan experience for all.
