The Denver Broncos will enter a bit of a remodeling year during the 2024 NFL season as they look to establish their core group of players moving forward.
All eyes will be on rookie quarterback Bo Nix after he was named the starter for Week 1 and is expected to hold onto the spot in order to develop.
While Nix is the key piece on the offense, the defense will also be looking to bounce back after a tough 2023 NFL season.
The Broncos have always prided themselves on their defense the past few years, and under head coach Sean Payton that shouldn’t change.
Pat Surtain II is by far and away the best defensive player on the roster, though the rest of that side leaves much to be desired.
Unfortunately, it seems the defense will be without another piece as linebacker Jonas Griffith announced he will be having another ACL surgery via Zac Stevens of DNVR Sports.
“Jonas Griffith announces he’s having another ACL surgery on the same knee he had the surgery last year. Just brutal. Best wishes for a speedy and healthy recovery,” Stevens reported.

Griffith went undrafted in the 2020 NFL Draft, and spent time on the San Francisco 49ers’ and Indianapolis Colts’ practice squad before finding a home in Denver.
Griffith would go on to make an impression with the Broncos though he struggled with multiple injuries that kept him off the field.
It’s sad to see that the linebacker will miss another season, though he can still make a comeback next year for teams in need of some depth at the position.
