The San Francisco 49ers, their fans, and the Pearsall family can all be relieved.
Turns out that, while he was indeed shot, Ricky Pearsall is out of danger.
The rookie wide receiver is in ‘serious but stable’ condition, per the Niners organization.
Now, his mother, Erin, took to Facebook to share a big update about her son (via David Lombardi).

She confirmed that he was shot in the chest, but fortunately, the bullet missed any of his vital organs, and it exited out his back.
He’s in good spirits, and she urged all of her contacts to keep him in their prayers, thanking God for shielding her son.
Pearsall was walking alone in San Francisco when he was approached by a 17-year-old from Tracy, California.
He was threatened at gunpoint and both got into a physical altercation, leading to both of them getting treated for injuries.
The suspected teenager is already in police custody and will be charged by a juvenile court, according to multiple reports and the San Francisco District Attorney.
The rookie wide receiver was able to communicate and share his statement with police officers.
The team hasn’t provided any further updates regarding a timetable for his recovery, but football might be the absolute last thing on his mind right now.
The Niners will kick off their season against the New York Jets, and they’ll all rally together behind their teammate after such a scary incident.
