The Cleveland Browns have gone through a lot in their history.

From their early days of glory to the team moving, all the way to entering the league again and struggling to stay afloat.

They’ve struggled to find a franchise quarterback more than any other team in NFL history, and the position seems to be cursed in Cleveland.

That’s why they swung for the fences and went after Deshaun Watson, who was once one of the best in the game.

They gave up a lot of assets to get him and then gave him a fully guaranteed deal worth a whopping $230 million, which was much more than the average QB salary.

With that in mind, Mike Jones of The Athletic believes it’s about time the former Houston Texans star pays them back.

We made it. The NFL plays real, regular-season football this week.

And from well-established icons to old faces in new places and fresh-faced franchise saviors, certain players’ performances will define the 2024 season.

In his latest article, Jones argued that there was no more room for excuses or shortcomings from the Clemson product anymore; it is time to deliver.

The Browns gave him some slack in his first season because of his suspension.

Then, in his second campaign, he barely played because of injuries, and even when he did, he wasn’t that impressive.

There were reports about some of his teammates questioning his commitment and leadership.

He now has a new offensive coordinator and an improved set of weapons, and nothing, not even injuries, will matter anymore.

He has to get the job done.
