Former Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban changed what it means to be an NBA owner and rewrote the script for what it means to be an owner of a professional sports team when he would sit courtside in a t-shirt and loudly cheer on his team just like any other fan.

Cuban has never been one to avoid speaking his mind, and this is the case when it comes to politics as well, as he recently put a poll on X to gauge the sentiment of his followers.

Cuban shared a poll on X asking his followers whose persona and character you’d rather see young children grow up to have, and 68.9 percent of the 804,173 people who voted chose Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump over Vice President and Democratic candidate Kamala Harris.

X has gotten more political since Elon Musk purchased it and made many changes to it (most notably its name) and if you’re easily triggered by negativity on the internet, the comment section to that tweet is probably something you should avoid.

Cuban has been notoriously critical of Trump both recently and in the past, and it’s unlikely he expected this poll to go the way it did when he shared it.

That being said, it’s always interesting to see data like this in real-time as over 800,000 people voted.

Perhaps Cuban should have done this more often when he owned the Mavericks to gauge fans’ opinions on potential trades or free-agent signings.

It would be fun in theory if an owner did that, but given how passionate sports fans are about their favorite teams, those comment sections might have been even more toxic than this one.
