The New England Patriots sported a brutal offense last season and were tied for the fewest points in the NFL at just 13.9 per game due to a severe lack of speed and explosiveness.
They’re hoping one rookie can inject a lethal dose of speed into their 2024 offense this year, only they’re hoping he can contain the speed to the field and not let it spill over into the streets.
Rookie wide receiver Javon Baker got a speeding ticket on Sunday morning and filmed himself in the moment on Instagram Live, saying he was stopped for “no reason” before going on an expletive-laced rant about the police officer’s intentions.

This isn’t a great look any time of the year, but the Pats don’t need things like this one week before the season starts.
Baker didn’t help his case by telling his followers he was pulled over for no reason by continuing to drive while looking at both his phone and reading the ticket at the same time.
Driving recklessly appears to be a plague with wide receivers, so surely someone within the team will talk to the rookie 4th-round pick about how he is a professional now and can’t be doing things like this.
The rookie had a strong preseason and is in line to earn plenty of snaps and targets this season, so hopefully, he can keep his life in order off the field to avoid potentially ruining any chance he has of becoming a big part of this offense.
