The Miami Dolphins enter the upcoming season with very high stakes.
While HC Mike McDaniel’s job seems to be secure, expectations are higher than they’ve ever been.
This team hasn’t won a playoff game in more than a long while, and given the kind of roster they have, there’s no more room for excuses.
Considering that, the coaching staff made a thorough assessment before naming the eight captains.

With the start of the season just around the corner, they announced that four players would repeat as captains: QB Tua Tagovailoa, T Terron Armstead, WR Tyreek Hill, and FB Alec Ingold.
They will also include four new captains: CB Jalen Ramsey, DT Calais Campbell, LB David Long Jr., and DT Zach Sieler.
Needless to say, it was somewhat surprising to see Campbell get the nod, as he recently joined the team.
Nevertheless, he’s a well-known leader and a respected NFL veteran, so it still makes sense.
As for Ramsey, he would’ve most definitely been a captain last season, but he was placed on the Injured Reserve (IR) list to begin the season due to a knee injury he suffered in training camp.
The Dolphins let the AFC East Division title slip right through their fingers last season, and while the Buffalo Bills might not be as good this time around, the New York Jets could be a tough opponent.
With that in mind, the captains must make sure to hold everybody accountable and avoid another late-season collapse in 2024.
