The Green Bay Packers and Philadelphia Eagles are about to kick off the season for the very first NFL game on South American soil.
However, this means much more than that.
Both teams are expected to be Super Bowl contenders, and both enter the season in different positions.
On the one hand, we have the up-and-coming Packers, a team that will look to build on last season’s momentum.
On the other hand, we have an Eagles team that will look to forget the 2023 season.
Considering everything that’s at stake, NFL analyst Jeff Darlington went as far as to call this the most important game of Week 1.
Talking on ESPN’s Get Up, he stated that the Eagles have been talking about this game for the entire training camp, as they just feel like they have a lot to prove.
“To me, this is the most important game of the NFL season for Week 1.”

They have a new star in Saquon Barkley, not to mention two new top assistants in Vic Fangio and Kellen Moore.
He also believes that they will need to see more leadership from Jalen Hurts.
Darlington also stated that both of these teams will be near the top of the NFC at the end of the season, thus making this a potential playoff preview.
Truth be told, no one wants to lose, but this is the kind of game you definitely can’t lose.
Some would state that the Packers were a one-year wonder, while others will talk about Nick Sirianni and whether he’s on the hot seat.
They will approach this like a playoff game.
