While teams like the Chicago Bears have never had an elite quarterback, the Green Bay Packers seem to grow them on trees.
The chances of going from one star to another at the most crucial position in the game are slim, and they’ve now done it multiple times in a row.
Granted, Jordan Love still has a long way to go to be in the same ballpark as Brett Favre or Aaron Rodgers, but he’s on the right path.
At least, that’s how Shannon Sharpe feels.
When asked whether Jordan Love or Jalen Hurts had better chances of winning MVP this season, the legendary tight end gave the Packers’ young star the nod.
Talking on ESPN’s First Take, Sharpe argued that while he doesn’t know whether Love will turn out to be as good as Rodgers, you can definitely see some of his mannerisms and mechanics when you watch him play.

He admits that he didn’t think Love would turn out to be this good, but that’s the kind of thing that you can get from sitting behind and learning from a future first-ballot Hall of Famer.
As for Jalen Hurts, Sharpe still isn’t so sure.
He believes Hurts has to prove that his breakout season wasn’t an anomaly, and he may have a lot to prove this time around.
Whatever the case, both quarterbacks will have great teams around them, and they should stay near the top of the MVP rankings for most of — if not all of — the season.
