Tragedy struck the San Francisco 49ers organization over Labor Day weekend when rookie wide receiver Ricky Pearsall was shot during an armed robbery attempt.
Many seemed to panic when the news broke, but Pearsall was able to walk under his own power to a waiting ambulance.
Despite suffering a gunshot wound to his chest, he was released from the hospital within days and reportedly already is back at the 49ers’ facility to work out.
That is an amazingly quick turnaround, and people are justifiably impressed.
Ricky Pearsall is back at the 49ers facility and in the weight room…
Tim Ryan on Ricky Pearsall and his promising condition:
“I talked to him yesterday, he was actually in the weight room. Thank God it’s not worse than it was… I already know this, his street cred has gone up… pic.twitter.com/S1I7HXjro1

Pearsall, the No. 31 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, had already been through a rough training camp.
He reported with a hamstring ailment, and shortly afterward re-aggravated a shoulder injury he previously suffered while at the University of Florida, where he played for the past two seasons.
He has ample speed, having run the 40-yard dash in 4.41 seconds prior to the draft, and thus San Francisco has high hopes for him.
He is one of a few rookies on the team who have the potential to become stars, including offensive lineman Dominick Puni, cornerback Renardo Green and running back Isaac Guerendo.
The Niners got some additional good news when All-Pro left tackle Trent Williams, who had been holding out while looking for a restructured contract, agreed to a new deal.
It is now time for the franchise to place all of its focus on finally winning its first Super Bowl championship since the 1994 season.
