The Philadelphia Eagles are just days away from getting their season underway.

Unfortunately, it seems like they won’t have one of their prime reinforcements on the field for the season debut.

According to a report by NFL insider Ari Meirov, the Eagles have made a decision about linebacker Devin White.

The Eagles have ruled the veteran out for the matchup with the Green Bay Packers with an ankle injury.

He had been listed as a limited participant in Tuesday’s practice, and he couldn’t recover in time for the game.

The former Tampa Bay Buccaneers player signed a one-year deal with the Eagles in the offseason.

A 2019 first-round pick, he spent the first five years of his career in Tampa Bay.

Notably, White will be the only member of the Eagles’ 53-man roster who is out for the opening game.

Cornerback Isaiah Rodgers was still limited with a hand injury, but he will be available for the game.

As for AJ Brown and Landon Dickerson, they were also in street clothes on Tuesday, but both veterans will have no limitations during the season opener.

Nick Sirianni’s team enters the season looking for vengeance after dropping six of their last seven games last season.

They have more than enough talent in their ranks to be the most dominant — or one of the most dominant — teams in the NFC.

As for White, his debut will have to wait for another week at least.
