Dak Prescott is a good NFL quarterback.
He’s also failed his team over and over.
Both things can be true; both things can coexist.
However, even though he’s left plenty to be desired vs. good teams and in the playoffs, he’s not the only one to blame for the Dallas Cowboys’ never-ending shortcomings.
And even if he may not be the guy who can lead a team to a Super Bowl, he’s still better than the average quarterback.
That’s why former Super Bowl champion Rob Gronkowski believes the Cowboys should do right by him.
Talking to Kay Adams for her Up & Adams Show, the legendary tight end stated that Prescott has been a successful quarterback because it’s not easy to make the playoffs every year.

He also thinks the rest of the team is to blame for their losses, not just Prescott.
Both arguments are quite solid.
Then again, context matters.
The Cowboys are choosing between finding a new quarterback or vastly overpaying for one that has systematically proved that he can’t get them over the hump.
Prescott isn’t to blame for the overblown state of the quarterback market, and he has every right to make the most of it and get as much money as he can get.
Jerry Jones has also failed to help him more often than not.
But even if it’s a team sport, he can’t just get a pass because he keeps making the playoffs, as everybody plays for the big prize, especially a team like the Cowboys.
