The Atlanta Falcons are set to kick off their season with a game vs. the Pittsburgh Steelers.

And while everybody thought and hoped that Kyle Pitts would be out there to get back at his former head coach, that might not be the case.

According to head coach Raheem Morris, the star tight end was limited at practice with a hamstring injury (via Ari Meirov).

Morris added that he wasn’t too worried about the issue, but we already know how hamstring injuries tend to linger.

Soft-tissue ailments are delicate, and with the season just about to start, the Falcons might want to err on the side of caution with their physical specimen.

Pitts has been one of the most disappointing players in the league for years now, but it’s been hardly his fault.

Following a promising rookie season, Arthur Smith was either unwilling or unable to get him involved in the passing game, wasting an elite talent and absolute stud as a blocker.

He was rarely used in the red zone, and he was also a victim of subpar quarterback play.

Now, with a new head coach and a proven veteran at quarterback, some thought the table was set for Pitts to give Smith — the new Steelers offensive coordinator — a glimpse of what he could’ve had.

Perhaps, Smith would’ve even been able to keep his job if he had used their prized weapon more often.

Unfortunately, that revenge game might have to wait.
