The 2024 NFL Draft class is looking incredible so far with six of the top 12 picks being new franchise signal-callers for the first time ever, of which we welcomed into the NFL a pair of Heisman trophy winners, a national champion, a national champion runner-up, and a guy who started more NCAA games than any QB in history.
There aren’t many fanbases looking ahead to the 2025 class yet for a new franchise QB, but draft aficionado Mel Kiper Jr. recently named who the top prizes are in next year’s crop.
Kiper is doing his homework early and recently appeared on ESPN’s Get Up to discuss the ’25 class and said “It’s between Carson Beck and Shedeur Sanders” when asked who the top QB is in next year’s class.

Kiper noted how bad Colorado’s offensive line was last year and said that Shedeur will challenge Georgia’s Beck for the top spot in the draft if the line can do a little better.
Kiper mentioned how 22 quarterbacks were ahead of Beck when he came out of high school and has developed tremendously despite only being 21 years old, while 15 QBs were ranked ahead of Sanders as well.
Beck completed 72.4 percent of his passes last year and Sanders now has 101 touchdowns and 18 picks in his career, and both seniors are off to 1-0 starts in 2024 as they continue to improve ahead of next year’s draft.
The 2025 QB class isn’t viewed as being anything special at the moment, but these two look like true prizes and could elevate the entire class as a whole.
