The Cleveland Browns made the playoffs last year despite starting five quarterbacks throughout the season, but they are hoping they will only need one quarterback this time around now that Deshaun Watson is healthy and ready to go ahead of Week 1.

After years of not looking like the player he once was, the critics are down on the Browns going into this season, and Watson has a message for those people in regards to their low expectations.

When speaking in a recent press conference, Watson said “Perfect. We’re just gonna go under the radar and work. We don’t get into all the power rankings and people’s opinions.”

This is the right response to have since Watson is taking plenty of scrutiny due to his poor play since coming to Cleveland, his massive contract, and of course, the lengthy suspension due to his well-documented off-the-field problems that have understandably turned many fans against him.

The Browns have a roster that is capable of contending for a Super Bowl, and this much was clear last season when they pulled Joe Flacco out of retirement and still made the playoffs.

Watson’s last good full season was in 2020, and he is running out of leeway to win this fanbase over on the field.

The QB posted seven touchdowns and four interceptions last year in his six games and the team went 5-1 in his tenure.

Given the amount of flack Watson receives, his best approach is to keep his head down just as he said he would.
