The San Francisco 49ers have a lot of pressure on them to win a Super Bowl right now.

As they enter the final year of Brock Purdy’s rookie deal and with a lot of their older, more experienced players continuing to ask for more money, at some point, they are going to have to let some key contributors go.

Former 49ers cornerback and NFL legend Richard Sherman recently chatted about why the Niners have to win the Super Bowl here soon.

“Time is ticking. (Winning the Super Bowl) has to be now. A lot of tough decisions next year,” Sherman said on The Richard Sherman Podcast.

Sherman is referring to the effects of the Purdy deal that will come down the road if the Pro Bowl quarterback plays like he has been playing these last few years.

If Purdy breaks the bank, veteran players like Deebo Samuel or Kyle Juszczyk could be at risk of getting cut loose due to the expensive cost of keeping other great players around.

This 49ers team has come close to glory multiple times over the last half-decade.

They have made multiple Super Bowl appearances and four NFC Championship Game appearances in five years but have not been able to break through.

As things stand right now with the talent on the roster, it feels like it is now or never for the team from the Bay Area.
