After bringing in USC superstar quarterback Caleb Williams with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, the Chicago Bears have been one of the most hyped young teams in the league heading into Week 1.
All signs point to the Bears having a breakout season in 2024, with Williams looking like the real deal and Chicago making all the right moves during the NFL offseason, as they were also able to draft wide receiver Rome Odunze and bring in veteran wideout Keenan Allen, formerly of the Los Angeles Chargers.
Although Allen had great success with the Chargers before landing with the Bears this year via trade, the veteran wide receiver has had his problems with injuries over the years, as he’s played in only 23 regular-season games over the last two seasons.
Those injury issues appear to have followed him to Chicago, as he is reportedly dealing with a heel problem ahead of Week 1, according to Ari Meirov of The 33rd Team.

Fortunately for the Bears, Allen was only limited in practice, which might be a good sign that this isn’t a serious injury that could result in him missing the season opener against the Tennessee Titans on Sunday at Soldier Field.
However, dealing with a heel injury can’t be good for a wide receiver, especially a player at the position at 32 years old.
Although Allen may be a bit hobbled heading into the regular season, the Bears do have a talented receiving corps even if he’s unable to take the field with Odunze and DJ Moore at Williams’ disposal in the passing game, along with tight end Cole Kmet.
