After winning another gold medal while leading Team USA during the 2024 Olympics in Paris, France, recently, Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James continues to rack up accolades on the basketball court as he approaches the twilight of his playing career.
Heading into the 2024-25 NBA season with the Lakers, the superstar forward has a chance to make history again, as he will likely share the floor with his son, Bronny James, becoming the first father-son duo in the league.
Along with having the chance to play with his son, LeBron James will turn 40 in December and will probably get closer to making a decision about his future in the league, but he will have another opportunity to set an incredible milestone.
Now that LeBron James is the league’s all-time leading scorer, passing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for that distinction, the future Hall of Famer can reach 50,000 career points during the upcoming season, according to ESPN via NBA Central.

At this point, LeBron James is making his records and individual accolades more challenging to top for players in the league, with reaching 50,000 points being something that no one thought was possible for any player.
It’ll be interesting to see how the 2024-25 campaign pans out for LeBron James and the Lakers, as the team is expected to struggle to compete with the best of the best in the Western Conference, but the superstar forward will likely continue to play at a high level.
