The Baltimore Ravens made one of the most significant moves of the offseason.

Adding Derrick Henry to their high-powered offense gave them the ultimate bruiser, someone to take some weight off of Lamar Jackson’s shoulders and keep their ground-and-pound identity going.

For years, John Harbaugh’s team had taken a running back by committee approach, but that’s no longer going to be the case with Henry in town.

Needless to say, a player of his caliber had several suitors and offers sitting on his table.

Recently, he revealed that he chose the Baltimore Ravens over other potential suitors because he wants to win a Super Bowl very badly, and he felt like this team gave him the best opportunity to do so (via Punch Line Podcast).

He’s not wrong at all.

Just last season, the Ravens knocked on the door of another trip to the big game, but Lamar Jackson and the offense fell short against the eventual champions, the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Ravens have absolutely everything they need to be one of the most competitive teams in the AFC.

Even if they lost some key pieces on defense, including defensive coordinator Mike Macdonald, they still have what it takes to get the job done.

Perhaps the only thing they don’t have yet is a plan or a way to stop Patrick Mahomes.

But that’s something they have in common with pretty much everybody else in the league, and maybe keeping him off the field by feeding Henry early and often will be the best way to mitigate his impact.
