While the Cincinnati Bengals are trying to clear things up with their star receiver in Ja’Marr Chase, the Dallas Cowboys were able to get things done last week with their All-Pro receiver in CeeDee Lamb.

Lamb inked a four-year extension worth $136 million with the team.

In a recent appearance on The Stephen A. Smith Show, GM Jerry Jones recently spoke about why the contract took so long to get done.

“Did you see how much went on paper? The same guy that was slow is the one that wrote that number on that paper and signed it,” Jones stated.

Jones is essentially saying that because the organization was willing to pay Lamb a ton of money, that is why the deal took a little bit longer to get done.

Seeing what the former Oklahoma star has done in Dallas so far, he looks to be worth every penny.

Lamb is coming off of back-to-back seasons with 100+ catches and at least 1,300 yards receiving.

At a minimum, he is one of the three or five best wide receivers in the league.

Without him, quarterback Dak Prescott doesn’t have as good of a season last year, and the Cowboys likely don’t win 12 games for the third consecutive season.

A clear cornerstone piece of the franchise, Lamb is looking to put up big numbers once again for a team that is starving for a championship.

If he performs the way that he has so far in his young career, the Cowboys, at least on offense, could be very hard to stop.
