Week 1 of the 2024 NFL season is about to officially get underway, with the defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs playing host to the Baltimore Ravens in an AFC Championship Game game rematch.
As usual, the NFL did a great job putting the anticipated matchup between two legitimate Super Bowl title contenders on the schedule right out of the gate, as these two teams could be headed for another showdown in the playoffs if all goes well during the regular season.
With NFL fans tuning in to watch the battle of AFC heavyweights, sportsbooks will be buzzing with action, with every avid bettor wanting to make the game more enjoyable with a flurry of wagers.
One popular bet will be which player will score the first touchdown of the game, and therefore of the 2024 NFL season, with several viable candidates, including Derrick Henry, Travis Kelce, Isaiah Pacheco, Rashee Rice, Mark Andrews, Xavier Worthy, Zay Flowers and Lamar Jackson, according to ESPN BET.

With Henry preparing to take his first snap with the Ravens after spending his entire NFL career with the Tennessee Titans, he is the betting favorite to be the first player to get in the end zone. Three Chiefs — Kelce, Pacheco and Rice — are next in line.
A lot will depend on which team has the ball first, because either high-powered offense is more than capable of scoring a touchdown on its first drive.
