One of the most intriguing matchups coming into Week 1 of the 2024 NFL season is, without a doubt, the Houston Texans going on the road to take on the AFC South-rival Indianapolis Colts.
With the Texans slight favorites to win the Week 1 matchup, the one thing that makes this game more interesting than most is two of the most promising young quarterbacks in the league going head-to-head.
C.J. Stroud stole the show among rookies as he burst on the scene and led the Texans to the playoffs and an upset win against the Cleveland Browns, vaulting him into the conversation as already one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL.
As for Anthony Richardson, the second-year pro showed a lot of promise in his first year with the Colts but only played a handful of games before going down with a season-ending shoulder injury.
With Stroud taking on Richardson, the reigning NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year had high praise for his counterpart, that from what he’s seen, he’s looked good, according to reporter Aaron Wilson.
“He looked like he was clicking on all cylinders,” Stroud said, via Dov Kleiman.

Although Richardson showed potential during the four games he played last season, the young quarterback’s style of play seems prone to injury, which is a concern for the Colts moving forward.
However, if he can manage to stay healthy, he could be a juggernaut leading the offense in Indianapolis.
