Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets has returned to his home country of Serbia as a national hero.
After leading Team Serbia to a bronze medal in men’s basketball at the Paris Olympics, Serbian citizens are even more proud of their iconic big man.
They are so proud, in fact, that they are giving him bottles of wine when he is out in public.
A video shared by Nina Krunic, per ClutchPoints, shows Jokic walking down the street when a fan hands him a free bottle of wine.
Jokic accepts the gift and keeps walking, sure to enjoy it later.

There has been a lot of wine and celebration for Jokic recently.
Although they had their eyes set on claiming gold, the Serbian team was elated with their third-place finish in Paris.
It was a true testament to how many great players are on the team and how far they have come over the last few years.
Many people assume Serbia will only get better and will be a permanent fixture in the World Cup, Olympics, and all forms of international basketball for years to come.
Of course, Jokic will be at the center of everything they do.
He just had another amazing season, averaging 26.4 points, 12.4 rebounds, and 9 assists per game for his Nuggets, shooting a lights-out 58.3% from the field and earning his third MVP trophy.
There is no doubt that he’s easily one of the best players in the league.
The Nuggets, and Serbia, are lucky to have him.
Now that the Olympics are finished, Jokic has some time to relax at home before he reports back to Denver for training camp and preparations for 2024-25.
That means he better enjoy that wine while he can.
