The Philadelphia 76ers have another free agency situation to sort out after one of their veterans signed an offer sheet from the Utah Jazz.
Playing behind the reigning NBA MVP Joel Embiid, Paul Reed hasn’t had many chances to showcase his talents.
The 24-year-old big man had the chance to replace Embiid during a couple of games in the regular season and the playoffs, but it was clear that he wouldn’t have much participation with the Cameroonian player going off night in and night out.
Even so, the Sixers hold him in high regard, but Reed is seemingly ready to join a different team this summer.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, Reed has signed an offer sheet from the Jazz.

The senior insider adds that if the Sixers match the sheet, they’ll exceed the $165 million luxury tax threshold and get an additional $14 million in luxury tax penalties.

Moreover, Reed will have a year-long veto power on any trade the Sixers would try to involve him in.
Reed played 69 games for the 76ers last season, posting 4.2 points, 3.8 rebounds, 0.4 assists, and 0.7 blocks per game.
Philadelphia is already going through a complex situation with James Harden’s trade request.
The Beard didn’t like the way the front office handled his free agency and once again wants out.
The Los Angeles Clippers have been mentioned as his preferred destination but we are yet to see where he’ll land next.
This offseason will be crucial for the Sixers in their attempt to win an NBA championship once and for all.
