The Buffalo Bills are looking for a new star.

With Gabe Davis and Stefon Diggs gone, there will be plenty of offensive touches and targets up for grabs.

That’s why OTAs and mandatory camp will be crucial for players looking to make a name for themselves and climb the pecking order.

With that in mind, Bills beat writer Matt Parrino reported that Chase Claypool has actually made a great impression with his new team, going as far as to say that he’s been the “most consistent” wide receiver thus far (via Dov Kleiman).

Chase Claypool has been the #Bills‘ most consistent receiver during OTAs. Comeback season incoming?

“Claypool has been the Bills’ most consistent receiver during OTAs and is setting the stage for what should be a run at the 53-man roster.”

Claypool has the physical traits to be one of the best wide receivers in the game.

However, his maturity — or lack thereof — and character have often gotten in his way, first with the Pittsburgh Steelers and then with the Chicago Bears.

There have been several negative reports about his work ethic and commitment, so it’s nice to see this for a change.

Claypool is still young, and he’s now going to work alongside the best quarterback he’s had in his career.

If the Bills get him to be locked in and keep the main thing first, he could be one of the biggest steals of the offseason.

Josh Allen can rip the football down the field, and Claypool’s combination of speed and size could be deadly in the intermediate portion of the field.

If not, given his history of shortcomings, this might be his final shot to make a name for himself in this league.
