It feels like New York Yankees manager Aaron Boone has said Aaron Judge is getting closer to a return from the injured list a thousand times this month.
For the first time in weeks, however, it does feel like he is taking the last steps in the recovery process.
MLB insider Jon Morosi reported on Wednesday that Judge was taking on-field batting practice in Anaheim before the game.

The nature of Judge’s injury has made his recovery problematic and lengthy, to say the least.
He went down with a toe ailment on June 3 after crashing against the wall in Dodger Stadium.
Initially, the Yankees reported he had a sprained ligament on his right big toe.
However, the player himself reveled a few weeks ago that the ligament was torn, not sprained.
There is a big difference, because a tear probably will require surgery.
The player opted to rest and rehab the injury with the hope of returning in 2023: surgery would have ruled him out for the year.
Naturally, it takes some time for the injury to heal to a point in which he can move without too much discomfort.
He has been hitting for a few days and has now resumed running the bases.
When he can do that last activity at full intensity or something remotely close to it, he will probably be in a position to start a short rehab assignment.
There is also the chance the Yanks skip the rehab assignment and have him return to the active roster as soon as he is ready to play.
In any case, he should be able to return to the lineup within the next month.
