The New York Yankees have won seven straight games and 13 of their last 15.
It’s hard to think about teams who are as hot as them, other than probably the Philadelphia Phillies in the National League and perhaps the Cleveland Guardians in the AL Central.
This stretch of quality play has coincided with Aaron Judge’s return to form after a rocky start of the season.
For weeks, the captain looked lost at the plate, missing pitches he used to punish and letting hittable strikes go by.
Now, however, he has been so good that he earned a popular weekly award.
“The Captain keeps on crushin’ it. #AllRise for the AL Player of the Week @TheJudge44,” the Yankees’ official Twitter account posted.

The numbers are, of course, out of this world.
In six games last week, Judge hit .500 and had a 1.200 slugging percentage.
No, that’s not a 1.200 OPS, which would have been very impressive in its own right.
It’s a 1.200 slugging percentage, a product of a power barrage that included five doubles and three home runs.
Extra-base hits are not that common, yet he managed to collect eight of those in just six contests last week.
He also worked seven walks and a .630 OBP, a product of his improved plate discipline and pitchers starting to fear him again at the plate.
Judge, when he is locked in, is a top-three hitter in the sport, and he is looking better than ever this year.
At this moment, the Yanks have Juan Soto, Giancarlo Stanton, and Judge riding hot streaks at the plate.
That, of course, is helping them win games in bunches.
They are looking dangerous.
