New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers is looking to rebound from a lost 2023 season that was over before it even started as he tore his Achilles just a few plays into his first drive with his new team.
Rodgers is healthy and ready to go ahead of Week 1 this year, but he recently got honest about the injury and what it was like going through that.
In a recent interview with Sky Sports, Rodgers said his Achilles feels good and he feels more like himself every day before adding, “It was definitely a devastating heartbreaking night. In a lot of ways I’m thankful for the lessons I learned…it’s sometimes in those low moments where you learn a lot about yourself.”
“It was heartbreaking”

It was easily the most severe injury of Rodgers’ career and the team has beefed up the offensive line this year in an effort to keep him upright by signing Tyron Smith and Morgan Moses before using a first-round pick on Penn State stud tackle Olu Fashanu.
Fans haven’t seen much of Rodgers during training camp since he hasn’t played during preseason, but the work has been done and he is all set to put last year behind him when he takes the field in Week 1.
There’s no telling what type of long-term psychological damage an injury like this can do to an athlete, so fans can only hope Rodgers has moved past it and can get back to being his old self.
From the sound of this interview, it seems like he has gone through the proper channels and is in a good place.
