The New York Jets are hoping to be Super Bowl contenders this year.
After trading for Aaron Rodgers in the offseason, that is the expectation that comes with any team he plays for.
Last season the Jets finished 7-10 despite having poor quarterback play.
Many hope Rodgers is the final piece of the puzzle to get the Jets back to the playoffs.
One of the last glaring issues for the Jets is their offensive line.
This team will fail to reach expectations if they cannot keep Rodgers upright.
Former first-round pick Mekhi Becton could be the X-factor for the Jets on the offensive line.
He has struggled in his career, but Rodgers recently had some encouraging words for Becton.
According to Ari Meirov, Rodgers said, “You encourage people, and you wrap your arms around people, you see their personality start to come out.”
Aaron Rodgers talking about Mekhi Becton: “It’s amazing to see when you empower people and you encourage people and you wrap your arms around people, you see their personality start to come out, you see the confidence start to grow.”

That is a powerful message that can be applied to football and life.
Rodgers joined the Jets and immediately became their leader.
Even at the age of 39, he seems to be meshing with the younger players and has everyone on the same page.
If Becton can play at a serviceable level, New York should be in good shape up front.
Even the best teams can struggle with poor offensive line play.
New York might have to make a trade if the offensive line becomes an issue during the season.
