What seemed like a very promising 2023 season for the New York Jets devolved into disaster almost right away when their new squeeze, future Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers, tore his Achilles on their first offensive series of the regular season.

The team remains very talented going into the 2024 campaign, and thus some feel they could do something special this fall and winter.

But how far the Jets go will largely hinge on how well Rodgers is able to play coming off such a devastating injury at age 40.

Rodgers said that his formerly injured Achilles “feels good” and that his summer will end on Sunday, per NBC Sports.

The start of training camps across the NFL is getting close, and veterans will be reporting in less than two weeks.

New York already had studs such as wide receiver Garrett Wilson, running back Breece Hall and defensive stars Quinnen Williams and Sauce Gardner in 2023, but this season, they will have added star power.

Mike Williams, a 6-foot-4 wide receiver who is a nice target in red-zone situations, has joined the team, as has linebacker Haason Reddick, who has made the Pro Bowl the last two seasons and posted double-digit sacks in each of the last four years.

With all the depth and talent across the AFC, Rodgers will have to find a way to play at a relatively high level for the Jets to make the playoffs and do some damage there.

He may not have to return to the MVP level of football he played in 2020 and 2021, but he will have to produce at a level somewhat approaching that plateau for New York to live up to the hype.
