The New York Jets are all set at wide receiver, or are they?
Every team in the NFL would gladly make room for one of the most reliable pass-catchers in the game, and Aaron Rodgers happens to know one.
His partnership with Davante Adams was one of the best in the league, and they’ve maintained a close relationship ever since Adams left the Green Bay Packers for the Las Vegas Raiders.
That’s why the legendary quarterback may have stirred the pot with his latest statement.
Recently asked about Adams, Rodgers told Vegas Sports TD that his former teammate is a great player and added that he can’t wait to play with him again, via Dov Kleiman.
Jets QB Aaron Rodgers says he “can’t wait” to play with #Raiders WR Davante Adams again
“I love Davante Adams, I can’t wait to play with him…again.”

Then again, we also know that Rodgers loves to control the news cycle, so perhaps we should take this with a grain of salt.
There were legitimate reasons to believe that the Jets would trade for Adams after quarterback Derek Carr left the Raiders, especially when they were going through a rough patch and it seemed like the receiver wasn’t seeing eye-to-eye with head coach Josh McDaniels.
However, Adams has been nothing but supportive of new head coach Antonio Pierce, and if he didn’t force his way out of Sin City when the Raiders were close to hitting rock bottom, it’s hard to envision him doing that now.
Still, we’ve seen crazier things happen, and given Rodgers’ leverage in New York, the Jets would most likely run to try to get Adams if he were to become available.
Clearly, they already have their quarterback’s blessing.
