The New England Patriots are in desperate need of a franchise quarterback.

After losing Tom Brady to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and retirement, the Patriots have tried to find an adequate replacement.

Who knew trying to replace a future hall of fame was going to be such a tall task?

They tried to plug-and-play Mac Jones into their starting quarterback, but that was a failed experiment.

Now that the Patriots have the No. 3 overall pick in what is said to be a loaded quarterback draft class, they could try again at the position, hoping to have better luck this time around.

While this seems to be the case on paper, there have been a few recent rumors that the Patriots will trade out of this pick, hoping to acquire more draft capital in the process.

Adam Schefter recently appeared on the Pat McAfee Show to talk about this, providing his latest intel.

“I don’t know, ultimately, if New England is going to move off that pick,” Schefter said via the Pat McAfee Show and Mike Kadlick.

“[New England is] still more likely than not to make that pick at 3, and it’s up to a team this week to change the #Patriots mind — which could happen.”

Schefter has certainly heard the noise of the Patriots potentially trading back, but in his mind, it seems like they’ll stay put.

For a team like the Patriots to trade out of this spot, they would have to get a trade offer that would be too good to pass up.

Will the Minnesota Vikings or New York Giants pull off a big move on draft night, hoping to strike it big at the position?
