MLB players also have hopes and dreams beyond the diamond.

Some of them want to be family men after it’s all over, dedicating their time to their wives and kids.

Others want to become photographers, like star pitcher and Hall of Famer Randy Johnson.

Others want to complete school or take up a hobby.

In the specific case of St. Louis Cardinals great Adam Wainwright, he wants to be a singer and songwriter.

People in St. Louis got a glimpse of his talent in early October when he performed a couple of songs at Busch Stadium.

Now, Waino has taken another step toward his dream.

“Adam Wainwright has released his debut song as a musical artist, ‘Time to Fly,’ which is a tribute to Cardinals fans. His album will be released February 23, 2024,” Cut4 tweeted.

Now that he is retired as an MLB player, Wainwright can dedicate his time to write, sing, and record songs.

He is particularly interested in country music.

It’s very cool that his debut song, called “Time to Fly,” is a tribute to Cards fans.

They have been with him, supporting his career, since the mid-2000s when he broke into the league and helped St. Louis win a World Series in 2006.

Now, they will follow Wainwright’s singing career with the same enthusiasm.

As for the Cardinals, they remain keen on improving after their awful 2023 season.

They already brought in several pitchers, most notably Sonny Gray, Kyle Gibson, and Lance Lynn.

Wainwright won’t be around anymore, but he will be rooting for St. Louis from afar.
