Retirement gives former MLB players a myriad of options to do in their free time.
Some of them just decide to rest and dedicate themselves to their families, others take on golf or other sports-related activities, and others enter the business world.
True stars, or very gifted/smart players, get a chance to remain involved in the game as analysts.
Many of the analysts we see on today’s baseball broadcasts are former players.
St. Louis Cardinals legend Adam Wainwright will join them, as he enters an exciting new project.
“3x MLB All-Star and World Series Champion Adam Wainwright has joined Fox Sports as a full-time analyst,” Front Office Sports tweeted.

Wainwright, who won his 200th game late in the season and retired with a career 3.53 ERA, will get the chance to remain involved in the game he loves in a new role: analyzing it from the booth.
It’s hard to deny his vast baseball knowledge: he managed to survive velocity loss and the rigors of time on his body to complete a 19-year career.
The owner of one of the prettiest curveballs the game saw in the new millennium, Wainwright will, one day, be a member of the Cardinals Hall of Fame.
He also started a promising music career, singing and writing country songs.
Now, he is joining one of the biggest networks in the country to offer his keen eye and comments about the game, current tendencies, and his own experiences.
We are sure he will be a very entertaining voice to follow.
