The Boston Celtics are headed back to the NBA Finals.
This will be the second time in the past three years that they’ve reached this stage.
This group has knocked on the door of an NBA championship for years now, and they haven’t been able to get over the hump.
That’s why, when asked about his feelings about getting back to the biggest stage, veteran big man Al Horford used one word: Starving.
The power forward stated that the team was ready for the challenge and that they couldn’t wait for it (via NBA).
“Starving… we’re ready for it we can’t wait.”

Notably, Horford has always shown up ready to play, and his contributions have never been in doubt.
He’s the kind of leader and player who always delivers when it matters the most.
That might actually be the biggest difference for this Celtics team.
They have three strong character role players in Horford, Jrue Holiday, and Derrick White, who have made huge plays on both ends of the floor to keep the team afloat when Jaylen Brown and/or Jayson Tatum aren’t at their best.
The Celtics are a finely-tuned machine, a deep team, and have a roster of battle-tested guys with a huge chip on their shoulders.
They won’t have the best player in the series if they play vs. the Dallas Mavericks, and that’s always a factor to consider.
Still, anything short of a championship should be considered a huge failure for this organization.
