The 2023 season has been one to forget thus far for right-hander Alek Manoah.

After drawing the Opening Day start for the Toronto Blue Jays, he posted a 6.36 ERA and went 1-7 in 13 games.

Things got out of hand so quickly that the Blue Jays ultimately demoted him, sending him all the way down to the Florida Complex League.

His first start down at the Complex League was a disappointment, as he allowed 11 runs.

However, those who know him best understand that counting him out would not be wise.

Former Blue Jays ace Marcus Stroman, now with the Chicago Cubs, voiced his support for the young right-hander on Twitter, expressing excitement for the day he returns to the big leagues and proves all of his doubters wrong.

I can’t wait for Manoah to get back to the MLB and make y’all eat your words. All of you clowns hating on another man is just a projection of your own insecurities and life struggles. Times likes these are when true athletes are transformed. Looking forward to his return!

Stroman was with the Blue Jays from 2014-19 before being traded to the New York Mets.

Manoah was drafted by the Blue Jays back in 2019.

Though the two never pitched together with the Blue Jays, Stroman understands what Manoah is currently going through and all the adversity he is being forced to face.

However, Stroman made clear that he believes Manoah will find himself again and become the pitcher he was in 2022.

The veteran right-hander also called out anybody who has counted Manoah out and lost faith in him, saying that times such as this are moments when the best athletes truly transform themselves into something better.

Stroman closed his statement by saying he couldn’t wait to see Manoah return and help the Blue Jays win some games.
