Washington Wizards fans may want to start celebrating soon.
With the NBA Draft just around the corner, all teams will be looking to make a splash by selecting the best player for their franchise.
For the Wizards, they could very well be hitting the jackpot this summer.
According to Forbes’ Evan Sidery, prized French center Alex Sarr, who is 19 years of age, prefers the Washington Wizards over the Atlanta Hawks, who currently have the No. 1 overall draft pick.
The Wizards currently sit in the No. 2 draft slot.
Sarr also decided not to have a private workout with the Hawks.

Sarr is one of the most talented players in this draft class.
The seven-foot star has played for the French junior national team and was last with the Perth Wildcats in Australia.
Washington is at an interesting spot in their history at the moment, as they have made the playoffs just once in the last six seasons and haven’t had a winning record since 2017-2018.
As things stand with their roster, they have plenty of youth.
Last year, they had 11 players on the roster who were 25 years of age or younger.
Led by Kyle Kuzma, Marvin Bagley III, Jordan Poole, and Richaun Holmes, it is clear that they need more help.
The addition of the talented Frenchman could be what is in order for the team from the nation’s capital.
If the Wizards find a way to get Sarr, he could be their future in the paint.
