Just hours before the NBA Draft, the Atlanta Hawks currently sit with the No. 1 overall draft pick.

One of the exciting, young prospects that they have the opportunity to draft is 19-year-old Frenchman Alex Sarr.

The 19-year-old seven-footer recently got an opportunity to sit down with reporter Andy Katz to chat about why Atlanta should take him at No. 1 overall.

“I’m the best player in the draft…I think I could play a lot of positions offensively and defensively,” Sarr said.

Standing at seven feet tall but weighing less than 230 pounds is not a combination that is seen in NBA circles very often.

Sarr has the length and size to be a great defender while also being light enough to explode to the rim at any given point in time.

He spent time previously playing at Overtime Elite right there in Atlanta before going overseas to play in the Australian National Basketball League for the Perth Wildcats.

Not only is he still young, but he already has the experience of playing professional basketball under his belt in one of the best leagues in the world.

If Atlanta is able to select him with the first overall pick, they may have a future superstar in the making.

If they paired Sarr with center Clint Capela, another European big man with a knack for great defense, the Hawks would be set in terms of rim protectors.

Plus, if All-Star guards Trae Young and Dejounte Murray are in their future plans, that should make this choice that much easier.
