It’s rare you’ll see a day in the NFL where at least one wide receiver isn’t stirring the pot and cooking up some sort of drama, but you never see it from Cleveland Browns WR Amari Cooper who has been one of the quietest and most consistent receivers since he came into the league.
He wasn’t quiet on Friday when he finally responded to his name popping up in recent trade rumors with a cryptic message on social media.
Cooper has had his name looped into Brandon Aiyuk trade rumors with the San Francisco 49ers recently and shared a one-sentence message on his Instagram story about the idea of being moved to the Niners, saying “lol I wouldn’t mind at all.”

Cooper put up a career-high 1,250 yards last year on 72 catches in 15 games while the team was forced to start five different quarterbacks.
Aiyuk is also coming off a career year after emerging as Brock Purdy’s No. 1 option, putting up 1,342 yards and seven touchdowns while catching 75 of his 105 targets.
You don’t see a lot of player-for-player swaps in the NFL, and one like this where the two stars play the same position would be unprecedented.
It’s unlikely to happen, which makes it even more awkward now that Cooper cryptically hinted that he wouldn’t mind getting traded while his current team is positioned to try to make a run at a Super Bowl appearance behind the returning Deshaun Watson at quarterback.
The Aiyuk saga gets more interesting by the day, and it’s hard to believe there hasn’t been any sort of resolution yet.
