The Los Angeles Lakers have some tough decisions to make.
They’ve already fired Darvin Ham, and they’re about to have their fourth coach of the LeBron James era.
That’s not exactly encouraging, especially if you consider the fact that he’s about to enter his 22nd year in the league.
That’s why some analysts believe they would be better off rebuilding instead of trying to double down on their current core.
Notably, that includes Craig Carton.
Talking on “The Carton Show,” the controversial pundit claimed that the Lakers should and would trade Anthony Davis for a flurry of draft picks and players on an expiring contract.
Unsurprisingly, he chose his beloved New York Knicks as a likely destination, as Julius Randle doesn’t seem to be a part of their future and he’s about to enter the final year of his contract.

That would make sense from a team-building standpoint, but that might not be in James’ best interest.
James would never agree to play with young players at this point in his career; he just wouldn’t sign up for that.
James has a lot of leverage right now.
He can opt out of the final year of his contract and become a free agent, and the Lakers want him to retire there, so he has them in a chokehold.
The only way to trade Davis would be to get him players who could win now.
