The Miami Dolphins have been one of the most electric offenses in the league since head coach Mike McDaniel took over the sidelines.
McDaniel got the opportunity to learn and develop behind the scenes as the coach with teams like the Washington Commanders and San Francisco 49ers and is now showing what he can do with his own offense.
In his time with the franchise, McDaniel has managed to rebuild Tua Tagovailoa’s confidence and turn him into a quality starting quarterback, while also elevating superstars like Tyreek Hill.
McDaniel is also a wizard in the run game, finding ways to scheme up gaps to give his running backs the best chance to succeed.
All in all, there aren’t many head coaches in the NFL who can replicate the same level of success that McDaniel has which is why analysts like Mina Kimes had high praise for him via ESPN.
“We live in a golden age of offensive coaches, but he might be the most innovative of all of them,” Kimes said.

It’s quite the claim for Kimes to make, though there’s a real argument for McDaniel over fellow offensive gurus like Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay and San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan.
Coincidentally, the trio of coaches crossed paths together in Washington and McDaniel even went to work with Shanahan in San Francisco.
Miami seems to understand what it has in McDaniel after they signed him a long-term extension and it’ll be exciting to see what he’s been cooking up.
